About this artwork
"Formula of Beauty" is my attempt to visualize something elusive: the ideal proportions hidden in every curve of the human form. Does such a formula exist, and can it be linked to the eternal harmony of the "Golden Ratio"? I am not seeking to provide a definitive answer, but rather to explore this question, setting out to understand how we perceive beauty through the lens of precise, geometric patterns.
The nude female body at the center of the… painting is not just an object of admiration, but a field for the search of deeper harmony. Its contours are delicate and almost ethereal, barely perceptible, which highlights the fleeting nature of the very idea of perfection. These lines do not assert something final; instead, they show how mutable and subjective the notion of beauty is.
I want to understand how we perceive harmony, how it manifests in our bodies and in the world around us.

Yaroslav Kurbanov is a painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Germany whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in Italy, Russia, Czechia, Finland, the United States, Mexico, China, and the Netherlands. His art attempts to answer the eternal questions of the origins of self, the meaning of one's life, and the essence of happiness and love. Kurbanov's compositions also explore loyalty and betrayal, fear and composure, as well as the discrepancies between the inner world and the external image.
