About this artwork
Inspired by the amazing photographer Ulla Wolk, Yasmine found the most interesting model doing the great Marylin Monroe in many poses and couldn't help but creating the perfect illustration in her head.
So after having the permission from pretty Ulla to use these photographs, she started to make the design digitally on her mobile first until it's just like what she had in mind, then painted it with acrylics on canvas and took about two months.

And as usual each of Yasmine's paintings is called by its soundtrack, this one kept playing the song Alone by Celine Dion in her head over and over till it's completely finished and even every time she looks at it.
She really hopes you feel it like she does, hear it like she does.

Yasmine Samir was initially hesitant to convey her emotions through art. However, the self-taught Egyptian painter is now filled with a sense of joy that, through her pieces, she can 'touch people's hearts', satisfying her 'never sleeping' deep-seated feelings. Samir enjoys experimenting with new styles and techniques on a regular basis, preferring to mix abstract and modern art with realistic and figurative elements.
