About this artwork
Young created this work during the time when she became increasingly unsure about what it means to be "at home," and started to question and explore her own feeling state of being at home. Ultimately, she concluded that being at home perhaps meant inclusive - even the state of anxiety, uncertainty, and discomfort. In this piece, layers of paper became a lot thicker and lines became bolder as she desired the viewers to linger a little longer and stay…
pensive about what it means to be at home for them as well.

« Creating art to me is in the process of making, thoroughly inhabiting, and breathing one's life experience, perspectives, and memories into the very space and that particular moment. »
