About this artwork
At first sight this painting seems abstract, but in fact it represents a feeling of doubting yourself even if things seem to be going great. The light happy yellow enclosed in a flowing shape is overtaken by many smaller blue and green shapes. They seem to invade the picture, taking over the white space and the cheerful yellow. Those shapes represent doubt, that’s taking over. It’s chaotic, it’s small, but it spreads.

Using acrylics and mixed media, rooted in her experience from a Moscow art school, Yulia Ani translates her unique vision onto canvas. Combining abstraction with figurative elements, her style embraces expressionist deformities to evoke emotional resonance. She orchestrates a vulnerable dialogue, bridging dramatic color and gesture to translate the profound connections between our inner and outer worlds.
