This drawing came about very spontaneously: I was influenced somewhat by Celtic art, but also by the geometric and floral motifs of Islamic art. The somewhat chaotic nature of the patterns is contrasted by the clean lines and the green background, which lends an overall vibrancy. The entire drawing was done in green colored pencil.

In this work,… I wanted to convey the fragility and intertwining of thoughts through abstract forms and a subtle interplay of colors. Pencil, pastel, and colored pencils blend to create a soft yet dynamic texture, evoking organic life and its branching structures. This work invites quiet reflection, bringing a delicate and soothing energy to your home.
Yves Minssart, painter, draftsman, and sculptor, draws on his background as an architect and his passion for art history to explore primarily drawing, metal engraving, and sculpture, while grounding his approach in a profound experience of minimalism influenced by Zen. His style combines abstraction, dreamlike imagery, and subtle textures, sketching plays of rhythm and bare forms reminiscent of surrealist universes. His work invites contemplation of enigmatic spaces, revealing solitude, fragility, and the sensitive search for a place in the world.
