About this artwork
In this piece, I've woven textiles over a robust wooden frame to create an encapsulating form, a freestanding sculpture that signifies shelter and thoughtfulness. The deep blue hue resonates with calmness and intellect, as if protecting one's innermost thoughts. It's an embodiment of reflection, a sanctuary for the mind in the physical realm. In your space, it will radiate a feeling of serenity and a profound, contemplative presence.

« What I do is a kind of mediation between the invisible and our insight into life, the connection with our inner selves. »
Yvonne Mostard is a sculptor based in the Netherlands whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, France, the United States, Italy, and Denmark. Her art examines the "secret understanding between desire and change". The forms that arise in Mostard's pieces are often symbolic or metaphorical. She qualifies their appearance as being sober, still, introverted, and mystical. Continuously experimenting with various materials, she favors wood, resin, lead, plaster, stone, copper, and neon.
