About this artwork

This painting captures the serene elegance of Clos de Vougeot Château, nestled in the heart of Burgundy’s renowned wine country. The artist visited this region in October, when the vineyards blazed with autumn color—fiery reds, golden yellows, and fading greens swept across the hills like woven fabric.

What moved her most was not just the visual transformation of the land, but the atmosphere of quiet transition. The season was changing. Leaves fell… softly, some trees nearly bare, others still holding onto the last signs of summer. The château stood gently above the vines, historic and enduring, its pale façade framed by a tapestry of symmetry and natural rhythm.

She chose acrylic for its ability to hold vivid color and dry quickly, allowing her to capture the fleeting light and emotional spontaneity of the scene. The vertical lines of the vineyard rows create a sense of movement and depth, leading the eye toward the elegant Clos de Vougeot Château.
