About this artwork
Fairuz the famous Lebanese singer is always a muse for me when it comes to portraiture. I have done 3 paintings of her and 1 drawing of which the drawing sold, and one of the series painting sold.
This is the 4th painting I have done of hers that veers away from my earlier hyperrealism style. I wanted to exaggerate her eyes and elongate her facial structure. While also maintaining her identity.
The colour blue was a decision I made beforehand… to emphasize the deep, regal, soulful and often sad aura that she often reflects in her energy.
I chose oil paint because no other medium could capture such depth.
