About this artwork
This unfinished drawing is my favourite of all my drawings. Gesture drawing is one of my favourite things to sketch and I wanted to represent it in a portrait instead of my usual figures. I did not anticipate to stop the drawing unfinished but I just loved the results. Often in this collection, the artworks feel unfinished. Her pose of arrogance and cheekiness were totally spontaneous and unplanned. The 1970's feel of her portrait however was planned…
by her big glasses. The strokes are continuous and the lines are strong.I used watercolour pencils in one tone. I often love monochrome artworks. Although this work sold, it still remains my favourite of all my drawings.
