In this painting we are looking at the image of an unfamiliar world. This world appears as a product of the artist's effort to reach her personal memory by using spontaneous processes as a free connotation. In this way, the artist creates a new reality based on the traces of the image presented by the unconscious.This new reality created is a censored reality, like in our dreams. This censorship also brings an opportunity of analysis to the viewer.…
In other words, while the artist is on the trail of her own memory, she also offers the viewer the opportunity to touch her/his own.

Zeynep Erol is a Turkish artist whose paintings have been widely exhibited nationally, in Austria and the United Kingdom. Her works focus on the covered, hidden, and subdued sides of the socialized human beings. In addition, Erol explores the subconscious, as well as the tension and the balance between the subconscious and consciousness. She employs spontaneous processes as a free association tool in order to convey images of the subconscious.
