About this artwork
In this artwork, my brush danced with watercolor, pencil, and india ink, embodying the fluid motion of life itself through fine art and figurative styles. Passion, movement, and fleeting moments are captured on paper—a celebration of spontaneity before the metaphorical midnight train departs. It's a visual symphony meant to invigorate any room with its vibrant energy and emotional depth.

« When I am working, I believe in the unconscious, allowing myself freedom during the process and enjoying any ‘accident’. »
Zi Ling is an exciting painter and draftsman who lives between Beijing and London, and who has widely exhibited her work across both China and the UK. The daughter of Huitao Ling, a pioneer of the 85 New Wave Movement, she has been creating art since age 4, and today focuses on watercolour portraits inspired by Dumas and Bacon. Her works are characterised by surrealist elements, bold and vibrant colours and interesting representations of the human form.
