In this piece, I've intertwined the delicate strokes of pen with the boldness of India ink to craft a surreal and figurative world where nature and imagination blur. Each circle, a portal, unveils fragments of a dream, hinting at a story untold. The drips of yellow create a rhythm, awakening the senses, and challenging the viewer to find connections amidst the whimsy. It's an invitation to explore the enigmatic and celebrate the unknown.

Zi Ling is an exciting painter and draftsman who lives between Beijing and London, and who has widely exhibited her work across both China and the UK. The daughter of Huitao Ling, a pioneer of the 85 New Wave Movement, she has been creating art since age 4, and today focuses on watercolour portraits inspired by Dumas and Bacon. Her works are characterised by surrealist elements, bold and vibrant colours and interesting representations of the human form.
