A curation by Vlad Merariu, Curator at Dance Artworks Gallery - This collection draws on the movement languages of Africa - grounded footwork, polyrhythmic torsion, call-and-response formations - to read dance as image. Across painting, photography, and mixed media, artists translate cadence into line and pattern, weight into geometry, breath into light. Figuration meets abstraction: ink and charcoal score steps; textile collage and earth pigments map pulse; long exposure and intentional blur inscribe velocity. From ceremonial echoes to contemporary stages, the works honor context and dignity while foregrounding motion as aesthetic structure. Selected for how movement and tradition co-exist in the artworks, the sequence travels from communal circles to solo release - presence carried by rhythm.
