A curation by Natalie Slater, Curator at Singulart - 'After Olympus' is a curatorial selection of works that revisit the visual language of mythology through sculpture, painting, and mixed media.
Across busts, torsos, drapery, and idealized musculature, these artists draw from the formal codes of gods, heroes, and classical figures, treating the body as both symbol and artifact. The familiar permanence of marble and bronze is reintroduced through heightened contemporary color — saturated violets, electric pinks, cobalt blues, and lacquered blacks — creating a tension between antiquity and present-day image culture.
Seen together, the works frame mythology less as narrative and more as an enduring visual structure: repeated, fragmented, and continually restaged through surface, color, and form.
