Animals as Urban Explorers: Francis Meslet - curated by Juliana Angulo

A curation by Juliana Angulo, Art Historian, Curator, and Advisor at FAREX & Singulart - This collection is dedicated to the striking and powerful series ANIMEX: Les naufragés de l’arche by Francis Meslet. Created through a blend of photography and artificial intelligence, Meslet imagines worlds where animals linger in magical yet mysterious environments. As he explains, there are still “no man’s lands that are best avoided… slowly, hungry animals return to the outskirts of devastated cities in search of food to survive.” Through portraits of “new urban explorers,” frogs, wolves, dogs, and other creatures become protagonists in a world without humans. These surreal images balance beauty, fragility, and resilience, inviting us to reflect on the power of nature and the uncertain future of our planet.
