Beautiful Waste - curated by Natalie Slater

A curation by Natalie Slater, Art Agent at Snap Collective - ‘Beautiful Waste’ brings together works that look directly at what’s left behind. Crushed cans, plastic fragments, paper scraps, industrial debris — materials designed for speed and disposal, now slowed down and held in place. Across painting, photography, and mixed media, waste becomes structure, surface, and color. Flattened soda cans read like mosaics. Plastic folds into soft gradients. Accumulated debris drifts, piles, or suspends itself somewhere between chaos and composition. There is no attempt to redeem or condemn these materials. The works don’t ask for absolution. They simply insist on looking — at excess, at accumulation, at the strange visual logic that emerges once usefulness ends. What remains is uncomfortable and oddly compelling. Trash, stripped of function, becomes image. Not resolved. Not clean. Just undeniably present.
