A curation by Natalie Slater, Curator at Singulart - ‘Cherry Bomb’ brings together painters, illustrators, and digital artists orbiting around one deceptively simple subject — the cherry.
Some treat it as a study — a still life caught in high gloss, painted with the precision of old masters. Others push it into pop territory: slick surfaces, bitten fruit, lips parted just enough to hold the stem. Together, they turn the cherry into both symbol and texture — a stand-in for sweetness, temptation, and cliché itself.
It’s playful, a little dangerous, and knowingly overripe — the kind of image that’s been looked at so many times it starts to look back.
