Digital Inception - curated by Natalie Slater

A curation by Natalie Slater, Art Agent at Snap Collective - ‘Digital Inception’ is a solo curation of works by Juan Diego Quintero López. Working digitally on canvas, Quintero López reconstructs figures, interiors, and landscapes through dense systems of line and saturated color. The compositions originate from recognizable scenes, then shift as layers accumulate—flattening depth, interrupting scale, and reorganizing space. Line operates as a mapping tool rather than a contour. Color functions as structure rather than expression. Figures and environments are broken down into patterns that feel less like images and more like spatial data. These works do not abstract reality so much as translate it. Physical space is compressed into a digital field—coded, repeated, and reassembled until the scene becomes a network of visual signals rather than a fixed place. The result is a body of work that treats space as something processed, not depicted—an environment shaped by digital logic, rhythm, and saturation.
