Jonas Peres: Sanctum - curated by Natalie Slater

A curation by Natalie Slater, Curator at Singulart - Jonas Peres’ Sanctum series centers on atmosphere rather than image. Working with acrylic and spray paint, he builds softened fields of color that dissolve into one another—edges blurred, forms held just out of reach. The compositions suggest distant horizons, light shifting across a surface, or something more internal—an impression rather than a place. Color carries the structure. It moves slowly, almost imperceptibly, creating a sense of suspension. There is a quiet control in how these works unfold. Nothing interrupts the surface, yet the depth is continuous. The result is a space that feels contained and open at once—less about what is seen, more about how long the eye chooses to stay.
