A curation by Natalie Slater, Art Agent at Snap Collective - ‘Micro Stills’ brings together artists who work with photography as a contained element within larger compositions. While many of the works are physically large, their attention is deliberately narrowed: the image is held small, embedded, repeated, or isolated within the frame. Across digital collage, hybrid processes, and photographic sequencing, photographs appear as fragments—caption-sized moments, contact-scale images, or reduced inserts that resist dominance. These micro stills function less as finished pictures and more as points of focus: moments suspended inside a broader visual field. What connects the works is a shared control of emphasis. Scale becomes a compositional decision rather than a display of size. The photograph is not enlarged for impact, but positioned for attention.
