A curation by Rose Boutboul, Independent Curator at - This selection immerses us in a fascinating exploration of the human figure, where the body ceases to be mere anatomy and becomes a vehicle for pure emotion. The artists here do not seek realism, but rather the vibration of a presence, whether sculpted in stone, drawn with a vigorous black line, or submerged in layers of acrylic and oil.
The exhibition is punctuated by striking contrasts that challenge our perception. We move from geometric and structured, almost architectural forms to abstract flights of fancy where movement still seems to pulsate on the canvas. On one side, figures in red and blue checkerboard patterns or cubist portraits in vibrant colors assert a powerful graphic presence. On the other, solitary silhouettes, sometimes reduced to a simple embroidered outline or a melancholic shadow, evoke silence and introspection. The stone sculpture, with its soft, organic curves, offers a tactile anchor to this visual journey, recalling the nobility of the material in the face of the ephemeral nature of the gesture.
