Monday Blues: Abstract Tides - curated by Juliana Angulo

A curation by Juliana Angulo, Art Historian, Curator, and Advisor at FAREX & Singulart - This collection takes inspiration from the 18th-century Japanese artist Hokusai and his iconic masterpiece “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”, which depicts a tsunami. Fresh interpretations of waves appear, suggested rather than figuratively represented. The works are interconnected by their cool palette and fluid strokes, evoking the ocean’s never-ending motion. Undulated compositions roll through the paintings, bringing a sense of serenity and harmony with their forms, textures, and hues. These abstract tides carry both serenity and emotion, as well as a symbolism of resilience and renewal that aligns with the natural phenomenon itself: a meditative submersion into the deep blue waters of art.
