A curation by Vlad Merariu, Curator at Dance Artworks Gallery - This selection studies how artists use black, white, and the tension between them, to shape human presence. The portraits, abstractions, and hybrid forms rely on high-contrast mark-making, visible brush pressure, erased lines, layered charcoal, and diluted acrylic to build emotional density without colour. Each composition pushes the eye toward texture, gesture, and facial structure, from sharply defined planes to blurred or fragmented identities. The works share a technical interest in light as a sculpting tool, using its absence to model volume, isolate expression, or dissolve the figure into the atmosphere. Together, they map how form, psychology, and material behave when everything is reduced to tone.
