A curation by Juliana Angulo, Art Historian, Curator, and Advisor at FAREX & Singulart - This series presents a storm of life situations under umbrellas and parasols: an examination through color and monochrome imagery of personal tales concealed by these artefacts. Mystery, romanticism, nostalgia, or hope are among the emotions conveyed, all in parallel with intimate narratives and untold stories that exist beneath their shade. While some pieces are humorous, others are conceptual and symbolic. Some are purely fantastical or surreal, presenting a wide range of aesthetics covering notions of shelter, companionship, and protection. Here, the umbrella rises beyond a simple everyday object, becoming a metaphorical protagonist of creativity itself.
