Nothing surpasses experience, the provost of know-how, the master of soft skills, the doctoral candidate in versatility, the genius, in theory… History fervently and lavishly recounts the “exploits” of experienced individuals in every field and throughout every era. Parallels connect them, whether from yesterday or yesterday. Fundamentally, what does it mean to “have” experience? To practice for a long time? To achieve perfection through… repetition? Like enslaving people for centuries or burning “witches” while proclaiming oneself the spokesperson for a deity? Questioning is not a sin…
The common thread among those who have shaped the past and influenced the future: rather than possessing things, they were made into being. They became who they were through doing. My opinion is that it's better to be than to possess, the main thing being to do, to have experiences… insofar as those experiences are dedicated to humanity. Pissing in the wind won't count.
