These "Large Pears", magnified beyond their natural proportions, transcend their mundane existence to become emblems of contemplation and introspection.
The interplay of light and shadow gives the simple fruit an unusual atmosphere, evoking a sense of transience and fleeting beauty. One cannot help but reflect on the transitory… nature of existence, reflected in the ripeness of the pear standing on the threshold of decay.
Conversely, "Big Pears" moves sharply away from the temporal realm as the pear becomes an eternal symbol of vitality and stability.
"Big Pears" is an attempt to confront one's own mortality, to embrace the fleeting beauty of existence and find solace in the enduring essence of the human spirit.

Alexander Lufer is an experienced painter based in Germany whose work has been featured in solo and group shows internationally. With a background in architecture, Lufer developed his artistic practice inspired by the Dutch Vanitas and artists like Jeff Koons.
