About this artwork
In this piece, I poured vibrant acrylics to capture the raw, blooming energy of nature in expressionist fervor. Each brushstroke bursts with emotion, reflecting growth, renewal, and the unspoken connection between life forms, a metaphor for our own personal relationships which through perserverance and hope, lead to renewal and blossom. The interplay of light and shadow in the peaches, lilacs and blue hues invites you to feel the vitality and softness… of hope and love blending together, bringing warmth and energy to any space it graces.
Alice Gavin Atashkar is a self-taught painter from Manchester, now based in North London. Her expressive, gestural paintings blend abstraction, representation, and imagination, marked by playful, spontaneous base layers and lush, textured surfaces inspired by the changing seasons and the natural world. Through her joyful, vibrant colour pops, she conveys restoration, hope, and a mindful, energising sense of peace and wonder. For the last 8 years she has been mentored by Paul Regan, VPRWS. She is currently a member of London based art collective Art Can, and has regularly shown her work at London Art Fairs and participated in solo and group exhibitions. Gavin-Atashkar holds an MA in Art Psychotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire and practices as an art psychotherapist.
