About this artwork
This abstract acrylic painting on stretched canvas depicts an underwater scene where seaweed floats gently in the green-blue sea. Layered textures convey the penetrating sunlight and graceful movement of the marine plants, while the cool, aquatic colour palette evokes the serene, immersive world beneath the waves. This artwork was created using the alcohol technique whereby alcohol is dripped into watery acrylic paint to create 'cells'. This was… repeated several times and coloured glazes applied to create an 'underwater depth', and then the algae were created by dripping and blowing a brown acrylic paint. This simple yet atmospheric artwork will look good in many settings bringing a bit of underwater mystery - as if viewed through a window. Supplied varnished with ultra-violet light protective varnish and a 1 cm white stain wooden floating frame, this picture is ready to hang.
