About this artwork
A pink, green and peach abstract painting - 30cm square on canvas, one of a series exploring the movement of breakwater, but abstracted by using non-representational colours. This one uses pretty pinks and greens, more often associated with a summer garden.
As the series progressed it became more about exploring the process. The paint is applied thickly, mostly with a palette knife and the colours are carefully selected to blend and mix directly… on the canvas creating a real sense of movement. The rich texture is balanced with contrasting areas of calm flat paint.
