About this artwork
The work from the Intertwined series is presented in portrait format and functions equally well vertically and horizontally. The composition remains open and free in space. Bright, sweeping brushstrokes traverse the canvas, lending it a light, almost floating quality. The painting appears feathery, evoking associations with swan feathers, airiness, and summer brightness. The open structure creates a cheerful, carefree impression; nothing seems closed… off or heavy.
The title Intertwined refers to the interplay of painterly gestures. Lines and movements intertwine, forming a transparent network that unites lightness and inner connection.
Annette Goessel is a painter with international training based in Vienna. She works with oil on canvas and aluminum composite panels, her style influenced by interdisciplinary thinking and travels around the world. In series of works, she develops atmospherically dense, technically sophisticated pieces that exist between abstraction, figuration, and installation through serial, experimental processes and wafer-thin layers of paint. Her art radiates freedom, intensity, and emotional depth, inviting contemplation and wonder.
