About this artwork
Look closely at the thousand,
and suddenly there is only one.
Look deeply into the one,
and the thousand unfurl like petals of fire.
Everything is molten gold and burning red —
circles within circles,
eyes within eyes,
patterns spiraling inward and outward.
A single blue dot holds an entire sky.
One crimson swirl contains a thousand suns.
The unreadable script whispers every secret you already know.
In this golden world,
multiplicity and unity… are the same breath.
Separation was only an illusion.
Stay here long enough
and you will forget which is which,
until all that remains
is the pure, blazing
recognition:
There never was more than this
single golden now.
This mesmerizing acrylic painting layers concentric circles, eyes, and intricate dot patterns in molten gold and fiery red, evoking a mandala where multiplicity dissolves into unity. The swirling forms and symbolic motifs draw viewers into a meditative space of profound oneness.
AyaMarray is a Japanese international painter born in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, and based in Antalya Province, Turkey, on the Mediterranean coast. She is exhibiting at the Venice Biennale 2026, Grenada Pavilion (Curator: Daniele Radini Tedeschi).
She sees art as a tool for world harmony and the Earth as a living entity. Her multilayered acrylic paintings blend Japan’s primordial memories with Turkey’s vast landscapes and ancient history, visualizing the Earth’s pulse, life’s vitality, and the tension between order and chaos.
After moving to Turkey in 2020, she has held solo exhibitions in both countries and expanded her activities internationally. Her Venice Biennale participation symbolizes her mission: visualizing invisible boundaries and fostering dialogue beyond nations, cultures, and species.
