In this large and detailed three-dimensional work made of high-quality silicone, I use bold neon colors to create a vibrant and energizing experience. The creation of the work is a complex process. For each individual sculpture, I create a master model, which I then mold. green sea carpet. The work sits flush against the wall, as if a neon-green cell structure or sea cucumbers were growing directly out of the wall into the room. Through this work, I aim to explore the connection between natural dynamism and artificial expressiveness. It is intended to bring a sense of growth and vitality to any space in which it is displayed. Despite its vitality, the green hue is both harmonizing and contemplative.

The sprawling cosmos of Dortmund artist Barbara Koch zooms viewers into a magical world of her own.
