About this artwork
MILKY MORNING shows a river valley in the morning mist and conveys a magical cotton-like atmosphere.
The picture was created in many layers using a mixed technique, which creates a nice feel and an archaic touch. I bought the frame at an art market. It shows slight signs of wear and underlines this impression. I think it goes perfectly with the painting, but that's a matter of taste. The frame is not necessary.
« For me, representational and abstract paintings play a synonymous role. When I look at my work, I have to say, "That's it!" »
Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
