In this bronze sculpture, I captured the pure joy and unbridled energy of a springbok herd pronking in mid-leap. Each figure pulses with life and movement, frozen in a moment of celebration and freedom. This piece breathes vitality and rhythm, destined to infuse any space with dynamic spirit and a sense of joyous harmony with nature.
The Springbok will pronk to confuse a stalking predator, However they also do it when there is no predator threat… . Sometimes they just do it for fun.
« Talent is not the only ingredient needed for a good artist. Talent is useless without hard work and a dedication to quality to make each work better than the last. »
Barry Jackson is an experienced artist from South Africa whose bronze sculptures have been exhibited nationally and are held in public collections. He began drawing as a kid and after winning an art competition at the young age of 13 on Zambia TV, Jackson decided to devote his life to art. Portraiture and wildlife are the main themes in his sculptures, and he is often commissioned to create life size public works of famous figures such as Mahatma Gandhi and Louis Van Mauritius.
