About this artwork

A firebird is a mythical beast - as is the phoenix.
Many cultures has tales about firebirds - best known perhaps the russian firebird.
It is very beautiful - but also very dangerous - it is said to have glowing feathers in red and orange colors.
If a feather is removed from the bird it is rumoured not to cease glowing ....... a fascinating mystery.
So they are to be admired for their beauty - but not to be played with !
The silver background is… made with acrylic silver paint.
The painting has a small symbol on the front and it is signed on the back.
The sides are painted, so no frame is needed.

The intricate and vibrant patterns and textures present in Bredahl's art as undoubtedly influenced by her former career as a fashion and stage costume designer.
