Zanzibar is one of those legendary destinations and was a sad place during the Arab slave trade.
The prisons are horrible, but you have to know that it existed.
The island has unfortunately changed a lot since the 1990s when they decided to build tourist hotels and an airport. Arriving there from Tanzania by boat is so magical because you can see the coral reef...
It's such a shame this place wasn't spared!
I have a second painting of the same type… and size for those who want a pair.
A frame is unnecessary because the work continues on the sides!
