About this artwork

In creating this artwork, I delved into my love of the great Jazz saxophonist, Charlie Parker, hence the title, Birdland. My intention was to create an expressive and free-spirited composition. I always use a mix of materials. For this piece I used acrylics, charcoal, and oil pastels, letting each medium guide the abstract forms and vibrant textures. The chaotic yet harmonious interplay of shapes and colors reflects the complex emotions and energy… of a dynamic urban landscape. This piece aims to evoke a sense of rhythm and movement, inviting viewers to explore and interpret the flow of their own emotions. It’s designed to add a pulse of life and a splash of color to any space.
