About this artwork

This particular painting could reflect being 'grounded' as in stable...or it could also reflect being 'grounded' as in stuck, like when a ship runs aground on a sandbar. I consider there to be a very fine line between stable and stuck. The style of the painting has my usual washes and light pours of paint soaked into the canvas to reveal texture and detail. At the same time, there is a thicker layer of earth-colored paint at the bottom portion which,… to me, connotes the feeling of maintaining curiosity and mystery in life while still having a firm footing.

This artwork ships framed and wired for hanging. Signed on the back and comes with a handwritten thank you note from the artist. The floater frame is wood with a natural light maple finish. Unframed, the artwork itself measures 36x36in.
