About this artwork
In this painting, I've captured the magic of light radiating softly through a mysterious world. Inspired by the shift in the air from warm summer days to cold, rainy autumn days, this work was created. Using acrylics, I created an atmosphere of tranquility and adventure, where the floating shapes and semi-abstract leaves transport you to a surreal dream. This work exudes a calm energy that stills and inspires any space. The leaves in the foreground… are painted with copper paint, giving them a coppery glow when the light falls on the painting.
« In my work there is the subconscious, the longing for nature, our general origin and the foundation of existence. »
Daphne Bitter is an established painter from the Netherlands whose work has been featured in numerous solo shows throughout the country. She is inspired by her love for the natural world and her yearly solo trips in nature visiting caves, waterfalls, mountains, and forests. Blending figuration and abstraction, Bitter represents these scenes and energies with a great attention to light and depth.
