About this artwork
Progressivo is a suspended luminous sculpture blending textile material, visual rhythm, and musical culture.
The work features five staggered light points, each framed by a sculptural wool lampshade handcrafted over a cubic mold. The wool panels, soaked in varnish and dried on wooden forms, are finished with a multicolored ceramic-effect varnish, transforming the fabric into a surprisingly solid and vibrant surface.
The central body is a mirrored… rosette from which cables suspend the five lamps. The rosette also houses two recessed LED spotlights that discreetly yet dramatically enhance the illumination. The oval bulbs, chosen for their full, harmonious shape, amplify the interplay between direct and reflected light.
The inspiration comes from the legendary Emerson, Lake and Palmer concert on the Isle of Wight in 1970
