About this artwork
In creating this artwork, I sought to blend the gritty vibrancy of urban street scenes with the fluid, reflective qualities of water, capturing both in a digital medium. My passion for the contrast between decay and development in urban landscapes is expressed through bold colors and abstract forms. David Tycho is a prize-winning Canadian artist whose paintings have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in the United States, Switzerland, Belgium, and Singapore. His art is distinguished by the exploration of varying subjects and differing artistic approaches. Inspired to create from nature, urban expansion, and the people he encounters, Tycho translates these influences onto canvas in an improvisational, expressive, and abstract manner. He paints using acrylics with brushes, palette knives, trowels, sticks, and rollers.
