About this artwork
The spaces that belong to me are niches of fantasy,
people believe they are rhymes dictated by poetry
and yet, in them, I find no depth, rather, I see them as an illusion,
like me,
that I pretend to be more than what really is there.
I move my hair,
I purse my lips,
change posture,
tics or rules dictated by a strange armor.
The niches of fantasy kidnap my mind during the day,
I believe even while I sleep.
I should get treatment or maybe… I should, like her,
make time and start dancing
to do,
to squander,
let myself go and get lost without returning.
These spaces and time, beyond space and time,
they are perceptions
illusions, there is no poetry, there is no depth,
they are doors,
where the soul has escaped,
and sometimes, they close,
double-lock.

Davide Romano', a graduate of Cantù F. Melotti, is an eclectic exponent of expressionist figurative art, with references to masters such as Picasso and Klimt.
