About this artwork
Alcohol Ink on Synthetic Paper
Camille Claudel, one of the most fascinating sculptors of the 19th and early 20th centuries, has had a profound impact on the art world with her expressive works and complex life story. Born in France in 1864, she showed an extraordinary talent for sculpture from an early age. Her intense and often stormy relationship with Auguste Rodin shaped not only her personal life but also her artistic development.
Claudel's… works are characterized by remarkable emotional depth and technical finesse. Despite the enormous challenges she had to overcome in a male-dominated art world, she left behind an impressive oeuvre that is admired to this day. Unfortunately, mental health problems and her long stay in a psychiatric institution overshadowed the last years of her life.
Eva Stauber is a mixed media artist with a background in art education and a master's degree. She passionately experiments with different painting media and intuitively combines alcohol inks, acrylic and oil in her works. Her works address womanhood and are an expression of social challenges that women have to face. Eva's pictures are characterized by honesty and courage; they encourage and remind women of their strength.
