Large-format oil on canvas painting of a young Ethiopian teenage woman—one of those rare, spontaneous moments when she just posed for me while I was wandering the suburbs of Addis Ababa. Her gaze is open, honest, untouched by greed or pretense—curious, aware and quietly confident in a way that only youth can offer.
I painted freely but realistic, focusing on every subtle detail: the soft planes of her face, the gentle arch of her eyebrows, the way… light dances across her skin and that unmistakable spark in her eyes and smile. I tried to capture the fleeting magic of a moment that feels at once intimate and timeless.
The light is warm and natural, bringing out rich tones in her complexion and a sense of presence that almost makes you feel she’s looking right at you. It’s a painting that invites pause, admiration and reflection—a tribute to authenticity, innocence and the quiet power of a gaze uncorrupted by the world.
