About this artwork
Digital composition, print on aluminum dipond reworked with acrylic paints (unique)
This work combines digital imagery with painterly depth and emotional intimacy. Its starting point is photographic fragments—the artist's face, her sister's hand, and her mother's hand—which were digitally composed and subsequently printed on aluminum dibond with acrylic glass lamination.
In a second, manual process, the artist applies acrylic paint directly to… the smooth surface. Layer by layer, she creates translucent color spaces, gestural interventions, and haptic accents that emotionally charge the digitally constructed work and make it physically tangible. The result is a visually complex yet deeply personal imagery.
Inspiration:
The work is an expression of familial connection, a quiet dialogue between the present, memory and inner heritage.
Gabriele Steinlechner, a masterful painter and digital artist, creates unique works of art from combined photographs and acrylic paintings. Her technique fluently transitions between digital processing and physical execution; she plays with contrasts of light and shadow and combines unexpected details. Steinlechner's masterpieces illustrate the beauty and diversity of merged worlds, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the intertwined lines and discover their own stories within them.
"My paintings are silent spaces. Places where memory, vulnerability, and strength overlap. Between digital construction and painterly gesture, works emerge that make the invisible tangible—as a trace, as a gesture, as a gaze."
