About this artwork
Technique: mixed with acrylic paint.
I created this work starting from a series of digital processes, which allowed me to evaluate, through multiple tests and studies, the one that allowed me to specify the direction of the conceptual message to convey in the painting.
Subsequently, I intervened with acrylic and oil colors to complete and make the work unique.
The painting is an elaboration of the one with which I won the world competition.
It… was enriched with the sheet of the Holy Shroud as a background, positioned waving horizontally
with the head of Jesus on the left.
Then, with Pop Art and Digital Decollage style, one of the articles from "La Stampa" of Turin was inserted
relating to the 1974 world competition.
Great inspiration: Salvador Dalí.

Giuseppe Pitruzzello, born in Sortino and graduated in Architecture from Turin, uses painting, drawing, and digital media, drawing on a solid background in the arts and conceptual art. Inspired by Surrealism, Symbolism, and Pop Art, he creates hyperrealistic works filled with symbolic colors, characters, and icons, in a dreamlike and ironic figurative style. His works convey powerful emotions, oscillating between joy and anxiety, inviting reflection on the contradictions of contemporary society and the search for transcendence.
