About this artwork
In my “paradise” we see, from bottom to top, arranged hierarchically, a somewhat melancholic devil, next to him an archangel Michael, who steps on a fallen angel, with a plush snake around his body, which we easily perceive as the snake from paradise. In the middle section, a painted Ken, Barbi's companion, sits enthroned in front of a collage of Hieronymus Bosch ghost figures, a few pigs and a young, somewhat soft-looking man. Above it is a group…
with an ambulance and a colorfully painted figure with all sorts of luggage and a banknote. Behind it a soldier in combat gear next to a small cypress tree and on the right edge a skull with a hand sticking out of it.

Heribert Heere uses collage, paintings (oil, acrylic, watercolor), digital media, and photography; his artistic development was honed at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and shaped by art historical studies. With sophisticated stylistic pluralism, he combines old and new, representational and abstract, and the trivial with high culture in his works, allowing collage, painting, and montage to flow seamlessly into one another. His works create a poetic tension and invite viewers to reflect on the constant metamorphosis of our culture and to experience the interplay of meanings on an emotional level.
