About this artwork
Around 2016 I shifted from realistic Oil painting to colourful Abstracts. It wasn't a concious decision however, more an inner calling and an anti-dote to the darker times we were lving in.I started creating large colourful vibrant and vivid paintings. Most of then monochromatic, all of them with multiple layers of paint. Colour and composition were key, and all of them had to lift my spirit and mood.
Much later I learned my Abstracts were part… of the Abstract Expressionism genre (Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock).
In creating this particular artwork, I explored the delicate balance between serenity and vibrancy. The soft pink hues embody a gentle calmness, while the bold golden squares, applied with a gilding technique, inject a burst of energy. The abstract composition invites viewers into a space where tranquility and excitement coexist, encouraging reflection and joy in their surroundings. This piece is designed to bring a dynamic yet soothing presence to any room.

Jacqueline Mac Mootry-Everaert is an experienced Dutch artist whose paintings have been featured in solo and group shows internationally. After receiving a classical education in 17th Century techniques and realistic oil painting, she found her passion in creating large layered colorful abstracts. She has lived and worked in Brazil, the Caribbean and The Netherlands, defining her unique artistic style along the way. Jacqueline Mac Mootry's work has been in exhibits in Dubai, New York, London, Amsterdam, Dusseldorrf , Venice and other major cities around the world.
