The Vibration of Monochrome
My monochrome paintings explore the threshold between form and formlessness, where the body begins to dissolve into sensation and energy. Drawing from quantum mechanics—particularly the concepts of superposition and uncertainty—I approach painting as a way to visualize existence not as a fixed state, but as a field of vibration and transformation.
Through the repetitive layering of a single color, I capture subtle variations… in presence, memory, and emotion. The surface becomes a site of quiet resonance, where the invisible pulse of being is allowed to emerge.
As an immigrant, I’ve experienced identity not as static, but as something in flux—uncertain, evolving, and open-ended. My work reflects this condition. It is not about clarity, but about what lingers in the spaces between disappearance and emergence.
In the silence of monochrome, I search for what cannot be said—only felt.
