About this artwork

While considering works and thinking about the series' intention to bring joy, I began assembling some of my favorite paintings and deconstructed them with a scissors, and placed strips of the paintings side by side until I found a composition that felt joyous and strong.
This piece "Mystery" is a piece that explores taking something truly beautiful, cutting it all to pieces and doing that with other pieces as well and reassembling them with the… hope, prayer and desire to make something more beautiful out of the reorganized chaos. A reflection as I see it, of our current state of affairs. This piece is currently in the "Black & White and what lies between" exhibition at the New Marlborough Meeting House Gallery in New Marlborough, Massachusetts.
